About Andy Webb
Welcome to my blog.
I’m Andy Webb, a professional photographer and gardener with over 35 years of experience behind the camera and in the garden. Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate enough to turn two lifelong passions into a way of life.
About five years ago, I was diagnosed with ADHD. Looking back, it answered many questions I’d carried with me for years. I often wondered why concentrating on one thing for long periods seemed more difficult for me than it appeared to be for others. Distractions were never far away, and my mind was always jumping from one idea to the next.
Photography was one area where things felt different. The camera taught me how to focus—literally and figuratively. Whether capturing a landscape, a wildlife moment, or a special event, photography requires complete attention to a single scene. It gave me a way to slow down and become absorbed in the moment.
Gardening, on the other hand, reflects my ADHD perfectly. I rarely complete tasks in the order I planned them. I’ll start weeding a border, notice a plant that needs pruning, spot something that needs tying in, and before I know it, I’m working on three different jobs at once. Somehow, though, everything gets done in the end.
Being diagnosed with ADHD has given me a fresh perspective on both my work and my life. Rather than seeing it as a limitation, I’ve come to appreciate some of the strengths it brings—creativity, curiosity, enthusiasm, and the ability to notice details that others might overlook.
Through this blog, I’ll be sharing stories, experiences, photography, gardening projects, observations, and occasional reflections on living and working with ADHD. My hope is that you’ll find something useful, interesting, or simply enjoyable along the way.
Thank you for visiting, and I hope you’ll join me on the journey.
Andy Webb.
